My friend and I are 13 and 14 years old.

We're planning on going to Borders this saturday and buying a book together. Are there any books you recommend for our age group? We've already read the Twilight series and The harry potter series as well. So are there any books you recommend we check out?

  1. A certain slant of light by Laura Whitcomb

A gathering of light by Jennifer Donnelly

Malorie Blackman anything by her can be interesting if you are in to her type of book so try one of them cos all i have read have been good

  2. I would read:

    Janna Mysteries

    Artemis Fowl

    Inheritance trilogy (Eragon, Eldest, Brisngr)

  3. Well my sister read the two first books of the Inheritance Cycle when she was about your age, and A Series of Unfortunate Events, and she really enjoyed both. She also like Swordbird.

My friend and I read the Two Princesses of Bamarre by Gail Carson Levine when we were your age. But I'll admit girls will enjoy it more than guys. Also, try the Bartimaeus Trilogy and the Septimus Heap series.

  4. Taking a wild guess that you're female?...sorry if you're male :P

-Vampire Academy, it's 2nds book Frostbite, and 3rd book coming out in November

-Brida (although it's more of an adult novel, only read it if you guys like really deep stuff) and no I'm not saying that twilight wasn't deep. It's my favourite book (book series) and probably will be for a very long while.

    -Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr.

-Just Listen and Lock & Key by Sarah Dessen.

-I'm only 60 pages into this book but The tenth circle by Jodie Picoult. I'm enjoying it so far, and my friends have told me that it's really good. However, once again it's very deep and apparently quite sad.

Hope this helps some what :)

    Happy Readings ;)

  5. I recommend trying some non-fiction. I'm reading "The God Delusion" By Richard Dawkins right now. Some other good books to check out The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, and On the Road by Jack Karowak.

  6. try nancy drew or the hardy boys.

  7. Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt

  8. I recommend the Uglies series.  They are good books for teens.  Are you going to read this together?  In the series is Uglies, Pretties, Specials and Extras.  They are not like Twilight and Harry Potter.  They are still good, though.

  9. Before I Die by Jenny Downham

    Inkheart series by Cornelia Funkt

    Ingo series by Helen Dunmore

  10. If you have a tomboy streak in you and you like other-planetary stories, you might be interested in "The Knife of Never Letting Go" by Patrick Ness. It was published in May by Walker Books.

But if you're stereotypical girls, and scare easily, you may prefer to give this one a miss.

It's reviewed as "an impossibly good novel. It is at once endearing yet unsentimental; compassionate yet damning; exhaustingly exhilarating and yet tempered by a staid and considered emotivity......Although this is a book aimed at children, it will find older fans too."

Kind regards and enjoy your holiday, whatever you decide to read ;)

  11. i would read The Artemis Fowl Series , The Immortal nicklous flamel series and Inkheart Series.

  12. KIKI STRIKE: In the Shadow City

Life will never be the same for Ananka Fishbein after she ventures into an enormous sinkhole near her New York City apartment. A million rats, delinquent Girl Scouts out for revenge, and a secret city below the streets of Manhattan combine in this remarkable novel about a darker side of New York City you have only just begun to know about…

  13. vampire kisses 1 - 5 -all the books were good and funny
