  1. Being a Yank, I am sick of our election.  I think they should have one week to tell their story then vote.  If it turns out the guy was a bone head, we op to kick his _ss out and send him to greenland or somewhere.

  2. Brits?! Heck We Yanks are sick of hearing about an office we have no direct vote for! And, what's worse, the "news" providers say either snippets (out of context) or nothing at all about the candidates and less of what each one actually says~!

Let's fire the news-houses and get some honest-to-God JOURNALISM!

    ...

  3. I do not mind hearing about it.  A bit.  I do not bother reading about it though when I come across a story in the broadsheets.

Makes little difference anyway, as the white guy always wins.

  4. I asked  a similar question a couple of days ago and got plenty of disgruntled US answerers, who couldn't understand why we aren't as enthralled in the bullshit as they are. It wouldn't be so bad if both candidates weren't just two cheeks of the same aarse, but they both spout the same drivel.

Julius Nyerere, the former prime minster of Tanzania, once commented that the whole world should get a say in the US elections, because we get so bombarded with their c**p. I think he was right.

  5. I'm sorry... not that I can do anything about it or anything... :/ but seeing as we only hear about a few times when your PM is elected.... but trust me... we see this stuff 24/7 and some of (though still very interested) are sick of it too... :/

  6. i'm surprised that it's covered at all in britian...we barely follow your elections at all here in the USA..on the other hand, the USA is certainly more relevant than Canada..seriously...not that there's anything wrong with Canada, but they really don't matter much..at all..perhaps to the NHL..but that's it..ok, Rush freaking rocked in their early years, the Guess Who..They aren't exactly Zeppelin, but, for Canadians, they rock....

  7. I have a gut feeling that Americans are as well. For the record there is a section All English Questions and that refers to language not Nationality. Sometimes I wish my fellow countrymen would get real and I am sure some Americans feel the same way about theirs

  8. Here's a novel idea...turn off the television and read something.

  9. Very much so, boring boring boring.

Its the same on Yahoo answer's how many questions do you see on the UK and Ireland site about the American elections, do they think we are all interested about what happens over there, a lot of people in the UK don't give a monkeys about our own politicians never mind the American ones.

But what you have to realize is that while they are reporting on the US elections it takes some of the heat off Gordy and his chums.

But lets face-it who cares in the UK about who wins in the US elections.

  10. I don't blame you guys a bit- I know how you feel!

  11. I Know what you mean When I lived over the pond I just loved your BBC i leaned so much i e

I never know that the English military was needed to keep the yank from killing the indians

I never know that you won WW 2 and we made money

I never know we let people lay in the streets sick

Than what do i know I only live in America

  12. woke u early today ,tv on , faced with u/s live  elections , never heard so much weak , nothing to-do-with-politics rubbish.

Obamas daddy loves his girl ,mamas apple pie cr-p in my life, still could not sleep , i felt sick

  13. Must be a slow news week.  I don't watch TV at all and seldom listen to the news on the radio.  I like reading about it online.  I sometimes read stuff or see stuff from the BBC and the CBC and God knows where else.  The US is part of the world, and a rather big part of the world at that.   Your Gordon Brown seems about as popular as Bush is here.  If you had more than 4 TV channels over there I expect this would not be a problem.

  14. You poor thing.

Three times a week is nothing.

  15. I'm sick of Americans invading the UK and Ireland site.

  16. it is just a small matter of electing someone to lead the most powerful country in the west

    of course it is important

i would prefer to hear about the elections than the knife murders of youths in the UK and stupid parents neglecting their children or allowing five year olds access to guns so they can shoot toddlers

the canadian prime minister will not have as big an impact on the world and the world's economy as the election of the right candidate in november

we heard much about pakistans elections too ...........

  17. The world stage is occupied by images and sounds that remind us all of the supra national status of America.

The theatre and media channels that directly benefit from being syndicated by American funds have no motive to report what is happening in Iceland or Cuba or Alaska because these countries have not created a multi-billion dollar entertainment industry.

Our news channels are first and foremost Entertainers and second most their income largely comes from American owned Media Companies.

The news wire is governed by a consensus of professionals that is expressed through their loyal devotion to reporting what best serves the interests of their employers.

In a global system of news delivery centralised by big news agencies connected with American Entertainment giants you not only get syndicated news but a uniformity of bias and propaganda across every channel.

IN the UK the ITV and BBC prime time news content is almost identical.

    Its sh*te.

  18. I am sick of the US.....
