I am looking to take the exam to become a RE broker. Besides the courses that are required and the two years working full-time in a RE related field, is there anything else required? Are there a certain amount of transactions needed? i know that with more transactions one becomes more experienced, but does the Department of RE look at the # of transactions you have to be eligible for the exam?

  1. You should get your REO. You should start out small, work your way up to going off on your own. I suggest some place like Remax, or even a smaller company near you:)

I wish you them best of luck, and make sure you are kind and caring to your clients, so you get referrals!

  2. To take your California real estate broker exam you must be licensed as a real estate agent for the minimum of 2 years.

If you have a four year degree from an accredited college then this requirement is waived.

There are no requirements for any number of transactions. You do not even have to have worked the two years, just have the license for two years.

Now in order to retain the license you must take the required continuous education courses.

You should check with the California DRE web site for additional information about taking the real estate brokers exam.

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.
