Any Chinese vegetarians out there?

Question

Actually, I am looking for Chinese who are vegetarians because they care about animals. I am working in China and although I don't wave a flag saying I am vegetarian and actually am tired of talking about it I am frequently asked why I am. Unfortunately, when I try and explain it is done on compassionate grounds (not because I don't like the taste or am a buddhist) those who question me don't seem to understand at all so I need a Chinese vegetarian to advise me how I can get the message across. Thanks!

i'm 100% chinese and i'm a vegetarian (not a vegan though).

i can't stand to eat animals i don't know why, i just think most of them are too cute haha.

and as a chinese person myself i can say it will be VERY hard to convince a chinese person to believe in something that most do not. my parents think i'm crazy.

but i don't know if you really want me to answer that 'cause i was born and raised in Canada.

Most orientals do not care about animals.

South Korea and China are well know for consuming dog meat.

Before they kill the dog they stab it a few times to make sure the meat is tender. Disgusting. I would never ever set foot in any of those countries.

american here but yeah, i can see how it would be hard b/c they eat dogs there, and cats. china is corrupt, get out as soon as you can

Chinese care for animal? You need statistics to support you view.

As I know, Chinese eat all type of animal, dog, cat, snack...many more

Chinese depend largely on pig for protein.

I am Chinese grown up in a small Chinese village.

behide my house 0.5km away is a pig slauther house.

Every morning 5am sure can hear the pig screaming.

Just say that you think animal are cute, you don't want to eat them.
