  1. As you already know, Australia is very small in population compared to England so therefore our cities are substantially smaller. If you like city life then look at Sydney or Melbourne.

Syd and Melb are the biggest cities in Australia and also the most expensive, there it more employment and housing, etc..

Melbourne will feel like home, the cooler wet weather. Melb experience all four seasons in one day, very unpredictable. If your after something with the weather a little warmer then try Sydney.

The Gold Coast has warm weather all year round but is very tourist based. Perth is much like Sydney but a much smaller town though it is growing rapidly.

I see your degree is in architecture which may mean Melbourne would suit you better with the artist auroa.

It really depends what you're after. Feel free to email me via the link on my profile with more detail and I can elaborate on the different cities for you.

  2. Yes. Heaps.  There is a new development to the north of Brisbane.  Everything is new. new schools, new shops, libraries. everything you could want from birth to death basically.  About 10 minutes to train and then about 35 mins. to city faster if you take an express train.  bus travel.  In 2006 2007 this area grew 22% and is one of the fastest growing areas in Australia.  Lots of people are moving there from overseas.  Check out google earth and look up Northlakes or North Lakes Brisbane or Mango Hill or Griffin Brisbane and have a look for yourself.  Good luck.
