Question:

Any Ex-atheist out there?

If you are not one then do you know anyone who is an ex-atheist? If your friend/relative/etc became a christian, do you still respect them and love them unconditionally? Do you think they are just delusional/stupid/dumb/etc just because of their religious preference?

If you haven't figured out, I am an ex-atheist who is now a christian. I am 17 and I use to be a staunch atheist. Just FYI, I am not lying just to try and convert you. I am simply wanting to talk to you guys and carry a conversation. Thinking I am lying simply because I go against your viewpoints is biased and close minded.

  1. Actually, after I became a buddhist, my family sees the truth and decides to convert themselves into buddhists instead. You cannot imagine the happiness you will feel knowing you will end your suffering one day. Knowing the fact the supreme gods does not exist. Knowing the fact Jesus is just a political tool used by Emperor Constantine.

Of course you will think I am lying simply because I go against your viewpoints. If that is the case, you are biased and closed minded.

    Boy, it goes both ways.

  2. so, what made you convert?

personally, if i'm going to become a theist, christianity would not be one of my choices unless it has me convicted... i simply cannot come to terms with a god who likes blood sacrifices.

  3. I was a Catholic from 5-6, then an Atheist for about 6-7 after coming to the conclusion that the church was a pack of lies, then at when I was 7 I had a near death experience which led me to believe that there was a God.

  4. Don't lie. No such thing as an ex-atheist.

  5. No, I don't know any ex -atheists. Most of my friends are religious (Christians, Jewish, Islamic, and Hindu), and no I don't prosecute them. My whole family is religious, yet I love them. I don't care about what religion a person is: what is it to me?

I have only one person close to me who is an atheist. If she converted, why would I care? She would still be my friend. I just find the whole believing-in-god thing hard to understand. I mean, it just doesn't explain anything I want to know. I can't help but wonder how someone could be deluded that much (I'm not trying to be insulting, fyi), it's just my logic.

It works both ways. I'm openly atheist yet, my friends love me.

  6. i respect you but i don't respect the way you try to force your believes on me

  7. I know many alcoholics and addicts to other substances who were helped by AA became Christians again. It's the only way they know how to become sober. It doesn't prove anything to me besides that AA approach works.

  8. If you're 17, you were NEVER an atheist since you were born.  You had influence, I'm sure, growing up to get you to a religion.  Few children are atheists in that environment.

    Nice try though.

  9. I don't see how anybody could become Christian after being atheist.

No offense to you, but once you believe what atheists do, I don't see any going back.

  10. You became a Christian when you were 17?  Oh... and what's the girls name??

  11. No, I personally don't know any ex-atheists.  I know many ex-christians.

Yes, I have friends and family that are christians.  I still love them and respect them.  I don't think they are delusional or stupid, I think just like most of society, they have been brainwashed.  I certainly don't hold it against them, but instead, try to educate them.

  12. I'm not one, I personally don't know one, but there are several people here that say they are.

I do find it strange.  You guys seem to take it full force, you aren't just going to be Christian you are going to be super Christian.  I have to wonder who you are trying to convince others or yourself.
