Question:

Any Galway Keenans and/or Cormican families around?

Looking for Galway Keenan families. I know, I know... It was many moons ago that my Keenan married a Cormican, had a lovely grandmother for me in Galway, Parish Clarenbridge and then later left for the states. However, the Keenans and Cormicans who remained in Galway may have had children and then those children had children and who knows? I may have Keenan and Cormican cousins..

It never hurts to ask and since I plan on visiting next year, I'd love to meet some folk who may be the long, lost cousins - wondering what happened to their ancestors!

with kind regards,

Laurie

  1. Hope you find your family in Galway.  Cormican is not a familiar Irish surname to me - so you could have gentry blood in your veins (gentry had the unusual names & were usually British), although, any coastal city has a few unusual names.

If you are travelling to Galway next year, make sure it's the Summer as they have a few fantastic festivals during the Summer, you will enjoy them, they have an arts festival which will take your breath away.  The city is beautiful, small & beautiful, with a soul & a young heart that beats fast.  Just bring your raincoat, you are coming to Ireland, after all.   ENJOY.
