  2. what Justin says is a lot of BS, sorry. There's a lot of good things in Germany, of course it's expensive. Milk doesn't cost 5$ a gallon, more like 3 something.  I live in Dresden and there are places you can park for free and there is a park house where you can park for about 1.20$ per HOUR. 9. I don't know what the Penguin person is talking about. I am German. I want to move to the USA this year. I wanted to buy a car here in Germany and then I see the prices of cars are about half in USA. I wanted to know why is everything so expensive here but no one knows. I am proud to be German but this is not where I want to live. I have a green card and I will use it. These are the reasons I am moving out of Germany and moving to America.

The people- more friendly in USA (bus drivers say hallo)

The people- more trust in USA (they have honor system)

The cost of gas- 1/3 in USA ( .45 EUR cents per liter in US 1.41 EUR in Germany, costs $7.11 per gallon in Germany.)

The cost of electricity 1/4 in USA (.0782 EUR cents per kw in US, .16-19 EUR cents in Germany where my oma pays 400 Euros per month for electric)

The cost of cars cost 1/2 in USA (BMW 335i costs 28,800 EUR, 52,000 EUR in Germany)

Electronics cost 1/3 in USA (BOSE S18 cost 800 EUR in US 2400 in Germany)

Sneakers cost 1/3 in USA (30 EUR for Addidas in US, 110 EUR for same exact sneaker in Germany)

USA has high speed fiber optics for FREE (we have no fiber optics Germany)

Drivers lic. cost only 14EUR for 4 years in USA and costs 2400EUROS in Germany

Driving school is free in school in USA (in Germany you must pay 1000 EUROS)

Unlimited possibilities in USA (everything is regulated and restricted in Germany)

Free 1-800 customer service numbers in USA (In Germany I paid 24 EUROS for a few minutes to my insurance company for question)

USA has newest products first (it takes months sometimes for the same products and movies in Germany)

USA has school buses for children (in Germany children must take public bus and it costs 3 EUROS for one 3 kilometers)

In USA government pays for many social things

In USA dead beat dads go to jail (no thing in Germany and my mother could have used that)

The quality of life better in USA (bus drivers can be millionaires)

Access to many more things (anything you want is there in USA)

Access to most german foods (USA is international)

Garbage pick up is unlimited amount and special pick up is free in USA but in Germany you are only allowed 2 little garbage cans and one time a year you have a special pick up for big things.

Quality of health care is better in USA. (In Germany you must wait 3 months to have an operation on social health care)

Access to all vitamins and they cost 1/4 in USA (We have no vitamins in Germany except Centrum and its costs 4 times more)

Snow plowing for all streets, small and large (In Germany I have to shovel my own street with neighbors)

Post Mail costs .16 EUR for post card, .31 for normal post in USA (In Germany a post card costs 50 EUR cents and regular post costs .70 EUR cents.

Prositution is illegal in USA but allowed in Germany. (This is quality of life thing)

Drinking in public is illegal in USA but allowed in Germany (Quality of life thing)

Jobs for everyone- help wanted signs everywhere especially young people in USA but in Germany there are no jobs. All of my friends look for work in USA.

Job pay is not capped or limited. (In Germany jobs have caps)

And yes Mr. litereading is correct- milk costs more than $5 US Dollar in Germany. In Aldi supermarket, 1 litre costs 1.09. If there are 3.889 litres in a gallon, then one gallon costs 4.23 EUR and to convert that into dollars we multiply that by 1.49 for exchange rates which makes milk cost $6.13 which is more than what Mr. litereading said.

I can't wait to move to America, the land of unlimited possibilities! I already lived there for some time and loved it. I think the tourists who visit Germany will not see all these things we Germans know.

  10. what is your question again?

  11. What nationality do you hold? Are you an EU-citizen? Are you rich and can afford to live anywhere or do you need a job? What qualifications do you have? Do you speak German well enough to work in Germany? How old are you, are you married and how many kids are "my family"?

Please add these details or nobody will be able to help you here. Also feel free to email me in private if you want..
