Any Good Hotels To Recommend In L.A ?

I'll be flying to L.A. in mid Oct for a personal leisure trip with my wife and my kid. On the first couple of days, we're going to be hanging around the Santa Monica and Hollywood areas. Any hotels to recommend that is reasonably-priced (< US$120), clean, comfortable, and centrally-located?

  1. Places to Stay:

Since LA is so spread out, there is no single place that is close to EVERYTHING. Most people who come here tend to stay in Hollywood, Santa Monica, or Anaheim.

In Hollywood, I recommend the Renaissance Hotel at Hollywood and Highland, the Best Western Sunset Plaza, or the Holiday Inn Walk of Fame. If those are booked, try the Orchid Suites or Hollywood Celebrity.

In Santa Monica, the Holiday Inn Santa Monica is close to the pier and reasonably priced.

In Anaheim, I recommend the Howard Johnson (HoJo) Anaheim, and the Candy Cane Inn.

  2. Have you tired the Westin in Long Beach? I heard it is very good. MY family and I will be staying there 2nd week of Sept. for a Pathology Convention. +)

  3. You could find many for that price here:

  4. don't waste your money on top notch hotels... motel 8 should fit your bill. the money you waste on 5 star hotels can be put to use on having a good time.
