Still trying to find out what the white circles, squares, etc. are that you see painted on main roads are for? Obviously they are to tell some drivers which routes to follow, but what exactly does each sign mean?

  1. So the piggies can nick you.

  2. some marks are timing marks for the police some are for surveyors sometimes when you are going to an industrial estate you see a sign on a main road showing maybe a square for one a triangle for another and maybe a star for a third just following the shapes on signs or on the road takes you there the correct way and not through an inappropriate way

  3. it's a highway maintenance node usually , is there a little metal marker in the middle of the painted area . a kind of surveyors mark .

  4. Don,t worry about the local council grafity love, just make sure you don,t hit anything and get around safely.

  5. They are known as VASCAR marks. They are measured 1 mile apart, for the police to measure speeding drivers.

  6. The police use those markings for timing speeding motorists (dunno if they have another purpose).
