hey,

I have to choose an A level to take with English which I will be focusing my career on(teaching). Among other choices, I am able to choose history. I do not have history as an O level/GCSE so I have no idea what it is like!

Could you guys help me on that? What is it like? Is it hard/fun/interesting? I will be mainly focusing on Europe history (world wars) and situations in Iraq etc.

thanks so much!

  1. Its best to do history GCSE first then A level, it will be difficult

  2. Hmm toughie I know - Do you know what the GCSE curriculum was? If it's the same stuff then you might find it hard to keep up but otherwise I don't think you need to worry too much- I went to my head of history and talked about the same thing the other day- basically your english skills which it looks like you are strong in if you want to pursue a career in this area will help you a lot with the methods- you will pick up the structures/way of thinking quickley. I would say go for it- best of luck!
