I received a Princess house griddle for a gift, any ideas on what to cook other than pancakes? It just does not seem so practical. IT MUST do more than pancakes seeing the price was 100.00

  1. Try potato pancakes. eggs, burgers.

  2. These may be too close to pancakes for your taste.

How about crepes?  You can make the crepe itself on a griddle, take it off the griddle and fill it with whatever filling you like.

How about quesadillas?  Flour tortillas, stuffed with cheese and other yummy items, heated on a griddle until the cheese melts?  Great stuff!

    How about frying eggs?

Did it come with a cookbook?  If not, you might contact the company and ask.

  8. The convenience of a griddle is that you can cook many different things at the same time without dirtying a bunch of pans.  It's like the grill at the restaurant.  Cook your eggs, bacon and hash browns or a burger, grilled onions and toasted buns.  Do a steak and some mushrooms.  Everything will be done at the same time.

  9. eggs, potatoes, veggies, chops, hamburgers, hot dogss, fried apples, onions, grilled cheese sandwiches, panie sandwiches, warm up leftovers, bacon, sausage, chicken breast, and so on.  God luck!

  10. It can also be used to keep soups and sauces warm or to heat up plates but mostly it is used for breakfast type foods, think of Waffle House - anything cooked on a grill there can be cooked on your griddle.

  11. Griddles are great for cooking a good amount of food at once.

You can cook a lot of things on them that you could cook on a skillet like hamburgers or steaks.

To me, really, it's all about a lot of area.  Grilling steaks for the family, griddles are great.

Other than that, don't think of a griddle as a tool that makes a certain type of food.  Think of it like any other pan, as a large flat pan that can be used to cook with just like any other pan.

All that they're really not good for is sauce making or containing liquid.

Personally, I think they are definitely more of a luxury item than a useful one for me.

  12. grilled ham and cheese

  13. Great question.

  16. Grilled cheese, eggs, bacon, french toast, hash browns, tortillas, hamburgers, patty melts, any hot sandwich.

  17. lightly spread some olive oil over some vegies and cook them on it.. really brings out the flavours and they are nice and crunchy :)
