  1. Try getting a ball that it can run in around the house. It will make it very healthy because of the exercise.

Maybe even a car! (I had that once.)

  2. I would say...try this website! it helps A LOT and you can get good ideas for other rodents and small animals too!

  3. 1. A friend. Rats are highly social and should always be kept in same s*x pairs or groups, it's really not fair to house them alone.

I'd recommend getting another rat from a reputable breeder or rescue as pet store rats are often ill or, in the case of females, pregnant. Plus, you don't want to support pet stores and their mills or backyard breeders:

Always make sure to quarantine a new rat:

  4. Toys: boxes with holes in

             tubes (toilet rolls, kitchen roll)

whole toilet roll (they destroy them)

             ping pong balls

long plant pot with rat friendly plants and treats buried (digging)

             ice with pees in it

swimming (not too long don't let her get cold)

A FRIEND THE BEST TOY SHE CAN HAVE!!!

Don't get her a ball or wheel rats backs are the wrong shape and

they can get hurt in them

  5. toy-boy rat?

  6. It sounds as though she loves burrowing (most rats do!).

So can you make her something that she can burrow into?  Like, maybe, a sturdy box filled with woodshavings - my rats have always enjoyed doing this.  She might also have fun digging in 'chinchilla dust' (which you can get from pet shops) and throwing it around, although don't get this too deep so that she can completely cover herself in it!
