  1. REI is my store of choice for climbing gear, you can pick up anything and everything you ever wanted.

  2. REI is great, EMS is good, climb high in vt. u.s.a. is awesome.

have fun and maybe i'll see at the crags.

  3. REI.com

    Moosejaw.com

    madrockclimbing.com

  4. My gosh, there is a plethora of equipment vendors on and off the Net. For brick and mortar shops, REI, EMS, IME are all greatly known vendors where you can purchase good equipment. Some local rock gyms have boutiques where you can purchase most types of equipment. The ones in my area that do are The Boston Rock Gym and Metro Rocks. I don't know where you are from but If you do a local search on the web for what you are looking for you'll find it. There is a great (or was) a Canadian outfitter that you could get great gear at great prices. Just Google Rock Climbing Equipment. You'll get more then you need.

  5. Whatever you do, avoid used safety gear.

  6. If you are shopping locally, you would need to look for an REI or other locally owned sporting goods shop - possibly listed in the yellow pages.

Since you didn't say where you live - I assume you really mean where on the web. My favorites are:

    http://www.mountaingear.com/

    http://www.rei.com/climbing?cm_mmc=ps_ya...

    http://www.backcountry.com

    Good Luck

  7. Agree with Sky.

    Speleological climbs since 1964.

  8. I do a lot of my buying online, but some stuff you really need to try out in person. I usually go to EMS (Eastern Mountain Sports stores are only along the east coast), REI, LLBean (occasionally), and even privately owned sporting goods stores. These stores like to hire people with a lot of experience, so I'm sure they would be happy to help you if you're trying to figure out what harness or shoes to buy.

As fas as online shopping goes...

    www.ems.com

    www.sierratradingpost.com

Even Amazon.com has some good deals sometimes, but watch out for counterfeits and check the retailer

  9. Backcountry.com might work for you. I do not know if REI.com will ship outside of the united states. mountaingear.com is also good. Any of these should work. :)

  10. estern mountan sports ofers a variety of eqpment and the people are very helpful
