Hey, im doing my GCSE mock art exam in art soon, and the subject ive chosen is the human face. Im focusing on eah part of the face at this moment im my project, particularly on the nose. Peices ive done so far are drawings of the nose at different angles, with different paints, oils, textures etc. Ive compared noses between the old and young, and different ethnic backgrounds. A final peice for this section i have created so far is a collae of noses in the shape of a nose, but i need another idea.

Can anyone help?!? Preferably needs to be flat, i just need good ideas to do with my research.

  1. ahh i see where you're going!! sounds like a brill idea. I did art GCSE btw.

How about taking pictures ...photography is a medium aswell, alot of art students dont use photography, but our teacher used to nag us to. So i think you should take pictures of the various nose shapes. You did say that you want it to be flat, but try doing a clay sculpture. If it works then yipee! If not, then what a shame!

Have you done stuff like, draw a nose but draw half of the nose as a young persons nose, and the other half as an old persons nose. That'll be funky.

    Good luck though!! XD

  2. The photographer Bill Brandt did a series of close up photos of famous artists' eyes, why not look at self portraits eg.Rembrandt,Leonardo,Durer,Picasso.Many artists have done self portraits. How have they seen their own noses?   I suppose you could also do Van Gogh's ear, before and after.

  3. May sound stupid, but what about painting, or drawing like a nose with people on it =s Kinda like thats where they live kinda thing! It'd be interesting and different!

  4. A clay model of a nose.

    Apapier mache nose.

A bag in the shape of a nose..youll have to be able to sew though.
