Any Ideas?? Having VERY HIGH HEART RATE ALL DAY LONG!!?

HI OKAY WELL IVE BEEN HAVING THIS PRESSURE IN MY CHEST, MY HEART IS PUMPING REALLY FAST. FOR MY WEIGHT AND AGE IT SHOULD BE ABOUT 60/70 AND ITS BEEN ABOUT 90/100...WHEN IM JUST LAYING DOWN OR WALKING SLOW. IT DID THIS A FEW MONTHS AGO AND THE ER DOCTOR DIDNT THINK MUCH OF IT

BUT WHY DO I GET IT MAYBE EVERY WEEK..COULD IT BE AHEART MURMER? IM ONLY 18

  1. 80 -100 is normal  60-70 would be for some one who is in exellent health like a runner or weight lifter atheletic

It's pretty common, and mostly not harmful.  Google "heart racing".  I've had it too, and one way I get it to stop is to take a deep breath and hold it, and tightening your chest.  This seems to put a bit of pressure on the heart, and it calms down.  Get down on all fours on the floor while doing it, that works for me.

  3. You need to check with your primary care dr.  Also,cut back on caffeine and other stimulant.

  4. If you are female your heart rate may just normally be a little faster.   Not everyone falls into the text book numbers.  So, don't get hung up on "shoulds". Also, are you dehydrated?  Try drinking more water.  You should call your doctor though either way if this is a new or different phenomenon for you.
