I have two bottles of indian rose water. What Can I make with em? Thanks.

  1. You can make gulab (rose water) milkshakes, kulfi, tea, gulab burfi, add a few drops to kheer...

    This is a great recipe, so yummy with tea!

    Rose Water Cookies

    1 cup sugar

    ½ cup butter, soft

    1 egg

    2 tsp vanilla extract

    1 tsp lemon extract

    ½ tsp baking soda

    ½ cup sour cream

    2 tsp rose water

    3 cups flour

    METHOD:

    Preheat oven to 325 deg F. In a small bowl, beat together the butte and sugar until creamed and smooth. Stir in egg, vanilla and lemon.  Mix the baking soda and sour cream into the creamed sugar mixture. Add rose water.  Add the flour to the mixture and stir well to combine into a dough.  Roll out the dough and cut out your cookies. Hearts would be an appropriate shape for Valentine's Day.  Bake on a greased cookie sheet for approximately 15-20 minutes. It may take less time if the cookies are quite thin or small.

    Rose water makes sweet lassis very tasty. (A lassi is a sweetened yogurt-based drink)

    There is an Indian dessert called gulab jamun, in which balls of thickened or reduced milk are fried like dough and served warm in a sweet syrup. Rose water can be used to flavor the syrup.

    I've added rose water (and honey) to instant apple & cinnamon oatmeal.

    It would probably taste great with vanilla ice cream!

    Rose water seems to be used most often in sweet, dairy-based foods. Either find recipes (online or in cookbooks), or add rose water sparingly to foods until you have a sense of how much to add. You don't want to overpower a food, but you want to be able to detect the rose water, too! Good luck!
