Question:

Any International Roaming problems from Cabo San Lucas? I use Sprint. Does caller id work?

I will be going in two weeks and need to call back for business and personal reasons, but don't want everyone to know I'm in Cabo. Will my calls come through as me or as "unknown" or will it show up as an international call? Are there any problems getting calls out of the area or receiving calls?

  1. Ok I have sprint and hopefully you will have a signal..If you have a newer phone you should have no problem. Also to remind you that all calls you make from mexico will say "unknown" and the price that sprint charges me was 1.00 a minute (more in some areas) so you may want to limit it a little unless you have alot of money you would like to spend on your bill...when you call to the US remember to diall 00 first then your number..

    Good Luck~

  2. It'll probably just state that it's an international or out of area call.

  3. I went to Cabo last year and I called my dad. Normally my name comes up, however my phone number came up and it said "out of area." My friend has Sprint and he didn't have any service, but I use Cingular and I had full service.

  4. Sorry, don't know a thing about Sprint phones in cabo.  Why don't you call them?  Second, there is a huge cellular tower in Cabo, phone reception is great.  And about 80% of the population of phone users use cells, not land lines.

  5. I agree with Charlie. Only your provider can answer this question. Rates do apply wherever you go, but you must first set up an 'out of country access', only given to you by your provider. At least that's the way it works for Verizon. You must call and follow the prompts they give you, BEFORE you leave the country or it will not work too well.

  6. Best idea is to call customer service ans ask THEM...otherwise you are getting GUESSES!
