Alrighty...so I've been dying for a good movie to watch lately, and I need some help with what to watch. Any recommendations?? I like movies that are epic, war-like movies, such as King Arthur (the one with Clive Owen and Kiera Knightly), Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Carribbean, etc etc. Any good movies out there that are epic, action-adventure-y?? Thanks for your help!! :]

  1. The Bourne movies

    Star Wars

    Indiana Jones

    James Bond

    The Rock

    Con-Air

    Braveheart

    Saving Private Ryan

    Black Hawk Down

    Titanic

    Pearl Harbor

    Armaggedon

  2. I do recommend the Bourne movies - The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum.

  3. I don't know about epic movies but I love these

Green Card, The Notebook, The Science of Sleep, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Requiem For a Dream, Factory Girl.

  4. I know the movie "Troy" fits in that genre, but I don't know how good it is...

The mummy 3 would also be a good pick, and since i saw it, I definately give it the thumbs-up. Great movie.

Also in theaters right now, I recommend "Tropic Thunder." It might not be what you are looking for, but I seriously laughed out loud the entire movie.

  5. you would have to go back to the 30's 40s and 50s for classic medieval movies. Eroll Flynn, Ed Wynn and Edmund Gwenn flicks. Laurence of Arabia, Robin Hood, even Robin Hood Men in Tights!

  6. You should watch  The Dark Knight, its an amazing film.

  7. I have similar tastes to you - I really like the lord of the rings & generally most movies which includes sword fighting and/or is based in an historical period.

    Here are some suggestions:

    Greek epic - Troy

    Roman epic - Gladiator

Scottish epics - Rob Roy & Braveheart

Edit - And I've been watching a medievil movie  tonight on the tele.

It's "A knight's tale" (staring Heath Ledger) - there's not alot of wars going on, but it does have a medievil setting with some jousting. It's got a rather modern twist to it though.

There are a few Robin Hood movies out there as well - I've always have had a soft spot for the version starring Kevin Costner.

And if you are into romantic-type stories - try the 80's classic "The Princess bride".

Edit - "The mask of zorro" might be considered an historical action movie as well.
