Tomorrow, early in the morning I'm supposed to go visit one of my friends in Freeport, Long Island.

However, she really can't leave her house because she'll be baby sitting, so I'm supposed to go over there myself.

I have no idea how to get to Freeport from Bronx, New York..

She gave me a quick run over and it seemed simple but things are never that simple =P She told me::

"Take whatever trains to Penn Station, get on the Long Island railroad to Freeport and take a cab to her house from there"

I live closest to the 2, and 5 trains. And I have no clue how to get to Penn Station..

I checked HopStop.com but it doesn't allow you to get directions from the city to Long Island.

Help with details PLEASE!!!

  1. 1)Take the 2 train southbound into 34th/Penn Station (just take it in the direction that goes into manhattan)

    2) At Penn Station, get to the Long Island Rail Road and buy a ticket for a train on the Babylon Branch. They charge depending on how far you go, and Freeport is about 7$. The trip

  2. take the downtown 2 train to penn station.  get off at penn station and go thru the turn style.  you will see a series of windows, and there you can purchase lirr tickets to freeport

  3. It looks as if you take the 2, and transfer at Columbus Circle to the A.

I'm sure a station agent can give you information.  Why not give your friend a call in the morning just to be sure?

  4. Since you live close to the #2 train, take that to Penn Station--  The #2 stops there.

Once at Penn Station, you need to go to a Long Island Railroad ticket window and ask to buy a ticket for the train to Freeport.  Once you got the ticket, get on the LIRR train and you should be there in under an hour.

    Hope this helps.
