Question:

Any POWERFUL NATURAL LAXATIVES?

i haven't gone to the bathroom for about 5 days now, and my stomach is as hard as a rock :( once i tried some ducolax pills but those nasty things made me writhe on the floor with pain.

does anyone know any effective natural laxatives, preferably tea?

oh, by the way, i dislike prunes; can't stand to eat one.

  1. Well for ANY natural laxative to work you NEED lots of water.

    Try bran (raisin bran, bran muffins etc.) Also apples or apple juice will work. Flax seed also works well.

    But like I said, Nothing will work if you don't drink lots of water as well.

    I would actually try drinking lots of water before trying anything else.

    You will pee a lot at first but once your body gets flushed out your bowel movements will become regular.

  2. do you like grape or grape juice. prunes are just dried up grapes and that could help.if you have been five days then you  don't need to go any longer. you could get a bowel obstruction. if you like grapes eat ALOT of them and drink ALOT of grape juice. if no results by tomorrow then you need to seek medical attention. truly it could be very dangerous.

  3. Senna is the strongest stuff i've tried. you can get it in tea form. It's really potent so wait til you are done with work/school. Liquid aloe vera juice is also a good laxative.

  4. Figs are really good for helping to promote bowl movements. They also taste a lot better than prunes.

    Also remember to drink enough water

  5. Water is the only thing you need.Drink a quart of water this morning and another one this evening.You'll be cured by morning.

    Even if you don't believe me please give it a try.

    I promise you'll be amazed.

  7. you can go to health food store and find many types of herbal laxative  teas and colon cleansers......senna is very popular and effective.

Green leafy vegetables/fruits/fruit juice/raisins, 1/4 of a cup of the golden, very sweet ones daily/peanuts/figs/or hold your nose and drink 4 ounces of prune juice at bed time, and best of all...WATER.  Your intestines dry out without enough water to make the stool move easily through them, hence, constipation.  You can become impacted, when the stool gets so hard, it becomes like cement, and has to be dug out, physically, at the hospital.

    You can buy Citrate of Magnesia at a pharmacy, in a green bottle.  There is Magnesium Citrate in some of the Dollar Stores, same thing, cheaper.  Either one, take one whole bottle, chug-a-lug it.  Hold your nose, of you have to, because it doesn't taste so great.  If one doesn't work, drink the second one.  Be sure you are close to the toilet, right afterward!

    We use this to clean out a patient before surgery.  If this is a chronic problem for you, change your diet.  If that doesn't help a lot, start using Colace, or better than anything else, MIRALAX, now over the counter stool softener.  Won't MAKE you go, but will KEEP you going, not let you get constipated.  But it is VERY important, that you must increase your water intake.  Don't think substituting sodas, tea, coffee will work....NOT.....Drink flavored water, if you aren't into plain water.  You must decide where your priorities are, and whether you want to continue these very unpleasant  effects of constipation.  Good luck  = )
