I'll be applying to grad school for PhD chem for Fall 09. Im a 4.0 student with honors from a good undergrad institution. My current GRE is quant 750, verb 500, analytical writing 5.0. Im signed up to take it again, but I'm just not great at verbal skills so I'm not sure if it'll improve. I know GRE isn't everything, but it worries me a bit. If anyone is a chem PhD grad student and doesn't mind sharing could you say the university you attend and your GRE score. Thanks so much!!

  1. Those are pretty good scores.  I have been admitted to UNLV with a 750 quant.  and 450 verb.  My writing was an embarrassing 3.  The subject test should be weighted more heavily than the general scores, if you have to take that.  Domestic students here seem to have avg. of 1000-1100, where as the international students have 1300-1400.
