Any Physio students??

Question

Hey!:)

Any physio students out there I'd really appreciate the advice!

I've wanted to do physiotherapy for years but I'm really scared if i got on a course I'd either hate it or not be able to handle it.

So i was just wondering,

are you glad you decided to do physio?

how difficult is the course?

Do you enjoy it??

Any help would be gr8!

Hey there! I've just finished my course, i went to a northern irish uni, but the course is all pretty much the same in the UK.

I didnt have a CLUE what I wanted to do when I was at your stage but thought I would enjoy physio, so just went for it. I wasnt the smartest person in the world so was abit worried about whether I could cope with it or not. But in reality it was a pretty easy course lol.

Well when i say easy.. it was tough, quite time consuming compared to other courses, but was nowhere near the level I thought it would be. As long as you just go to your classes you'l be fine. Alot of people in my year didnt even go to class (including me in first year) and we all made it through with excellent degrees!

I think as long as you have an interest in it, you'l want to do the work, and you'l be fine. I REALLY enjoyed it, met some great people, and because alot of the classes are practical (as opposed to lectures all the time), it was a very close class, everyone got on really well.

I have one warning for you though...there arent many jobs for us! I'm qualified and am struggling to find a job. They all want physios with higher experience. You should look it up online...the unemployment rates for qualified physios are quite high.. all over the UK. Alot of my class are going to New Zealand or America for example to get work...thats how bad it is. The situation is improving veeeery slowly though...and could be resolved by the time your qualified. But by that stage... there will be many people before you still competing for jobs!

Though... if I was you, i'd go for it... ;)
