Any Plans storms to victory in the 480m Grade A1 Heat at Newcastle at Feb 1
Any Plans started off the new month with a bang, sealing a comprehensive victory against New Castle’s top hounds on Wednesday.
The 480 metre long Grade A1 Heat saw the black hound showing great speed and stamina. J. Wright’ trainee made a good first impression, and maintained his classy work all the way through.
Droopys Kewell’s son out of Killough Belles finished fifth in his previous outing and thus, nobody was expecting him to unleash such a brilliant performance. However, the dog showed that on his day how dangerous he can be. With the winning chances
of 8 to 1, the rampant dog started off the proceedings from the sixth trap.
His outstanding performance helped him retain his advantage throughout the Heat, reaching the post in 29.37 seconds. The trainer and connections would have been delighted with their hound’s extraordinary show, as he secured the top place by 1 ¼ lengths.
Prosecutor was second in the list. After showing an early pace, the black dog sustained a decent pace. However, Droopys Kewell’s son out of Frontier Music was helpless in front of his half-brother's fire.
His starting price was 3 to 1, as he commenced the event from the fourth stall.  By covering the area in 29.47 seconds, the dog clinched second position by 1 ¼ lengths.
J. Wright was the happiest man at the venue, as both of his trainees’ grabbed top two positions on the chart. Although, Prosecutor was unable to beat his kennel-mate, defeating the race favourite, Ardera Monarch was definitely a big achievement.
Carrying the winning probability of 6 to 4, A. C. Dawson’s trainee was enjoying the favourite tag. However, the dog could not do justice to his potential, making it to the post in 29.57 seconds.
The son of Montoscaramore out of Ardera Jingle, was lucky to end up among the top-3, as the fourth placed hound remained behind by a short head’s margin.
The 7 to 2 choice, Nifty Crash locked fourth place, while Fagans Rambler at 8 to 1, and Southwest Senor sent at 6 to 1 nabbed last two positions, respectively. D. Calvert’s trainee was a bit of a nuisance to Ardera Monarch, whereas the remaining two
hounds could not exhibit anything notable.
Any Plans registered only one victory last month. Since he has begun the new month on a winning note, one can expect him to come up with better stats in February 2012.
