Any Repsol Honda Team fans there?

My favourite biker is Dani Pedrosa!

No doubt Dani is a great rider and what he has achieved is amazing. I though am not a fan and that has nothing to do with his bike skills but in this day and age motorsports also needs characters. That has helped to make Vale even more special. Casey unfortunately is a bit of an automoton at times but Dani has the persona of a haddock. These guys are highly paid and whilst in comparison to footballers I don't grudge them it - mind you no sports person is worth the millions they get but that is another debate entirely - they should however realise that part of that money comes from the fans and they are entitled to a little bit of interaction back.

Lorenzo tries too hard and comes accross as a prat as it is all false but look at other real popular riders and back in history at many of the favourites and they all had character. Barry Sheene, Steve Parrish, Kevin Schwantz, Carl Fogarty (personally I could never stand him but I was in a minority), Wayne Gardner, Nori Haga, Mike Hailwood, Joey Dunlop, Steve Hislop, Rueben Xaus, Lori Capirossi, Alex Barros, Christian Sarron, Freddie Spencer (strange but never dull), Troy Bayliss. One of thefew notable exceptions is Mick Doohan who was not a great character giver either but he was something very special, though still dull most of the time.

OK maybe I am getting old but I think that Dani will have a gret career but few people will rememeber him as a person after his career is done, whereas we can still talk about the Sheenes, Agostinis, Sxhwantz etc with warm smiles for the people they are/were as well as biking legends.

man, i like repsol honda just because nicky hayden rides for em..He won a championship...wheres the love for nicky??He got screwed by gettting prototype parts.

The Repsol Team will never be the same with out Rossi and Doohan!

Dani is great, but can he pull the big " 1 " in 2008? I for one dont think so.

I agree with guys above although Dani had a fantastic race on Sunday - so smooth through the corners.

Seeing one of the previous questions about Vale going to Honda or Ducati in 09 - put a little thought in my head - could Vale replace Nicky in 09, this is Nicky last year in his contract with Repsol....

Wiggysan has a point there. The team will never be what it was with Doohan or Rossi.

One of my favorite riders is Pedrosa but I don't think that the team has what it takes to win a championship! Although I loved the fight that Rossi and Pedrosa put in one of the last races...
