Question:

Any Science Fair Ideas on Vision and Hearing Disabilities?

I am in IB (smart people classes) and I hate asking for ideas like I'm a plagiarizer (if that's even a word ^^), but I want to do a science fair experiment on vision or hearing disabilities, because it's one of my passions. I need a project that can be easily tested, yet is complex at the same time... HELP! I thought I'd get an early start, so I'm looking for ideas in the summer so I don't wait to the last minute (as I'm known to do...). Thanks!

  1. One suggestion is to explore colour vision - specifically colour blindness - which roughly 1 in 12 males suffer from. You could find colour blindness test on the internet. You could look into how the rods and cones makes us see - and why some people don't see colours

    Have fun :-)

  2. how the eye works

  3. http://www.vischeck.com/

    simulates colorblindness

    http://www.dmoz.org/Health/Conditions_an...

links to more about the condition.

  4. Open  your telephone directory yellow pages to ENT's and write or call one with this request.    They can give you some better ideas than the average internetial abstractor.

You might consider using Webster's Unabridged to check on the validity of words you are not sure of.  THAT is what  Truly smart people do.
