Any Scorpion owners help please....?

I hope you can give me some info on how you keep your scorpions...

What temperature should they live in? (tank)

How often do you feed them?

How do you feed their water (I heard they need very small water dishes as they can drown - was told to use a bottle lid? It would be very small!

How do you keep their tanks humid? (apart from moist bark/soil) If you use a sprayer to mist the cage, do you have to avoid misting the scorpion itself?

Hope someone can shed some light on this! And yes I could just google it but isnt yahoo questions here for a reason...Your own personal answers would be interesting!

Thanks guys x*x

  1. ok temps depend on species

depends on age when young once a day older every other day

bottle lids are ok but they tend to get flipped over a small heavy shallow water dish is better

mist with a plant sprayer some scops like misting others hate it

  2. listen to manny he gave you all the advise you need to get started .  good job manny.

  3. Ideally the temperature should be around 75 but your room temperature should be fine. Feed them a few crickets every couple of days and a pinky a month when its bigger. You have heard right about the water dishes very small the lid of a bottle is perfect my pet store sells these really small bean shaped ones, thats what i use but whatever.the humidity I keep up by using peat moss, and you do have to be careful spraying the tank because if you spray the scorp while he is moulting he will go into shock and die. if your thinking of getting one read a book or two before this is the basics but you should know more.
