Its like a mix of surfing and skating. If you can skate and do ollies, shovits, kickflips. You'll probably good at flatland skim. Vise versa if you can surf.

get pads then if u dont wax ur board then learn the basics of throwing the board and standing up. Bend ur knees and keep ur weight frward 2 go fast. Then learn tricks like flips, ollies, sailfishes, or just riding the wave good.

wax your board, get a kickplate, throw the board low to sand, throw the board when the wave is going back into the ocean, watch over skimboarders.
