Any Studies on Bipolar Couples?

My boyfriend has been diagnosed bipolar for six years, since he was twenty. He was off meds for about six months, but is just now starting them again. I was recently diagnosed bipolar II. Have there been any studies done on bipolar couples and whether that can help or hurt a relationship? Thanks!

Sure. I am in a non-scientific study right now. My husband and I are both bipolar.

It can effect your relationship, but as long as your both take steps to keep your mental issues in check you should be able to function perfectly well together

Not sure about any studies on that,but if you were to have any children it is highly possible that they will have bipolar also. I did find a forum for bipolar couples. You can get insights from other couples dealing with the issue.
