  1. I went to school for a very long time before I finally got a degree.  When I started in the seventies one of my teachers said "Subject Matter is the enemy".  In the nineties I got yelled at by another teacher for quoting her.

The truth is they were approaching the discipline from two different points of view, but trying to teach the same thing.

Most of art is visual thinking.  Am I showing this from a good angle which shows whatever action or gesture I am showing clearly?  Is the space of the picture clear and readable?  Do the parts of the picture know about each other or do they encourage you to look at the parts in isolation and ignore the rest until you move on to these other sections, in which case you are encouraged to ignore what you first looked at?  (Bad.  Very very bad).  These formal elements are very important, but sometimes when saying, "I shall draw heroic fantasy" or an urban scene or whatever, we get so hung up on the subject, the narrative of the picture, we neglect these.  Bad.  Very very bad.

Draw whatever you like, but be aware that just because what you see looks nice doesn't mean your drawing will unless you work at it.  And that is why subject matter is the enemy.  It should not be hard to find something -- anything -- you are willing to work on until you find something you want to draw more.  Just draw it as well as you can and fix it until you move on.  That's what sketch books are for.  If you like it enough, you'll come back to it so be ruthless about abandoning it too.

You CAN win against subject matter.  And sometimes you should, even if sometimes you shouldn't.

  2. U can go here to find something of ur interest to draw. There's a lot of things on these websites that inspire me to draw when I feel the need for inspiration :)

    http://images.google.com/imghp?hl=en&tab...

    http://www.elfwood.com/elfwood.pike

The search bar on elfwood is under the start page list on the left side of the screen. Good luck in finding ur inspiration ;)

  3. I think you can draw about nature, animals or stationary object....inspiration and ideas are everywhere

  4. If you have any siblings you could draw them. Or a pet. You could even go on google images type in fish in a bowl then pick a picture to draw.

  5. flowers, your hands, feet, your portriat, park bench, car, landscape with a pond, river, any building, paper bag, ball of string, speghetti, noodles, fruit, veggies, old shoes, old trees, old barns, someones ear, eye glasses, sets of keys, food, chairs, tables, umbrellas. . .open up your mind - you'll find something that interests you!
