The Mrs. and I are 24 and 25 years of age. Her birthday is coming up soon so I wanted to treat her to somewhere nice. The max I can spend is from $150-$200. All suggestions will help. Thanks! :)

  1. maby a piknick in the moon light with 1 candle, 1 or 2 roses or rose peddles spread around.

  2. Take her for a dinner cruise if you can.  Or a movie and dinner date. Good luck and happy birthday wishes to your wife.

  3. You don't give your location and LA/OC is a Big place. But my favourite place for Ultra Romantic dining is in Brea .

    La Vie En Rose

    240 State College Blvd

    Brea CA 92821

    (714) 529-8333

    lavnrose.com

You can have a look at the menu (including prices) online. I highly recommend the baked Mushroom soup with the pastry shell topping, The grilled chicken with mushroom sauce and the Grand Marnier souffle for dessert!

Also great, and near the water in Long Beach is Parker's Lighthouse. This is in Shoreline Village. I suggest renting a surrey at Wheel Fun and going for a romantic sunset ride on one of the cute and fun surreys then a romantic dinner at Parker's (the prices are much lower than La Vie En Rose, and you get a great View of Long Beach, and Shoreline Village makes for a romantic walk after dinner too)

    Parker's Lighthouse

    435 Shoreline Village Drive

    Long Beach CA 90802

    (562) 436-3551

The Restaurant at The Getty (That's what it's called) overlooks Los Angeles and you can also tour the galleries within The Getty Museum.  They are not open on Sundays and dinner hours are short too (5pm-9pm) and reservations are essential. But it is very romantic!

    1200 Getty Center Drive

    Los Angeles CA 90049

For a really private meal... The Bungalow Club on the corner of Melrose and Formosa is hard to beat! Especially great on a warm evening (Though the patio is heated) Private cabanas are available But the whole place is very romantic, especially the patio. They also cater to a younger crowd.

    The Bunglow Club

    7174 Melrose Avenue

    Los Angeles CA 90046

You may also want to rent a gondola in Naples  and pack a romantic, gourmet, picnic, (Wine, cheeses, cold cuts, French rolls, chocolate dipped strawberries) to have while floating through the canals in Naples, Long Beach. They do provide a basic basket of bread cheese and salami and also an ice bucket with ice/glasses... But no beverages. But you can bring food too.

    Gondola Getaway

    5437 East Ocean Blvd

    Long Beach, CA 90803

The seductive and romantic Sutra Lounge in Costa Mesa is a really special experience and if you live near or feel like a drive... This place is worth a trek to the OC, for a really romantic occasion.

    Sutra Lounge

1870 Harbor Blvd (in Triangle Square)

    Costa Mesa CA 92627

  4. The cheescake factory in Redondo Beach.  Get a seat right by the window and you can watch the sun set over the water.  you will spend between 60 and 150 bucks.  Not more then that though!  Good luck I love that place.  Very romantic

  5. I would go to casa don rolando in north hills. It's one of the best Cuban food restaurant ive tried in a while, and the inside of the restaurant is gorgeous!!! Very low key and candle lit. Plus the service is great.

  6. Malibu fish and chips. Right near malibu beach. The food is freash and i have seen alot of stars there including Britney Spears, and my man Kobe bryant.

  7. Mr. Stox in Anaheim ....  incredible food and spectacular wine list.  Well worth the drive from LA.  They have a website that you can look at...

  8. yamashiro. hands down. It's a great japanese restaurant in the hollywood hills overlooking all of los angeles.

  9. Well depending on the type of person. If you like wine, There is a restaurant called the san antonio winery in downtown LA. wonderful food, very classy & romantic. you get to go wine tasting and enjoy fab food. not expensive at all, and the wine there is the best.

The Yard House in Long Beach is romantic, beautiful view, good food, not overpriced, and you can go for a walk along the boardwalk and enjoy the view of the Queen Mary.

I could suggest more if you want to email me with what cities are around you ?

Oh, one more, (that I want to go to) La Vive Lounge in Pasadena, dinner, drinks, and Paaaartay!!

  10. ELEPHANT BAR RESTAURANT! We'll take you on a taste safari through exotic destinations to find “elephant size” portions of fresh culinary delights. We'll help you escape the “concrete jungle” and seek out the culinary pleasures of Asia, the Tropics and sensational regional favorites. Our own Executive Chef and Partner, Reinhard Dorfhuber, has created an extraordinary menu...where each dish is prepared just for you. Where we pride ourselves on serving only U.S.D.A. Choice beef, fresh fish, fresh 100% ground beef, hand-breaded chicken tenders and shrimp, marinades and sauces made from scratch, fresh hand-cut vegetables prepared to order and garden fresh salads. Where every bite will take you away from the ordinary to our world, the world of the Elephant Bar.

  11. Well, I don't live in LA so I was thinking more along the lines of you cooking her dinner yourself - if you know how to cook of course and since you have $200 to spend, you will be able to make quite the meal! Wild King Salmon would be a great option if you both like fish, but if you two are more meat people than a nice large free-ranged steak is in order! Along side either of these proteins you should have roasted asparagus with garlic, olive oil, thyme & lemon juice some whole grain rice and perhaps a tomato basil salad with olive oil, garlic & anchovy dressing to start.... Oh and dessert - can come in so many forms!

  12. dinner? cinema? beach? home alone?

  13. If it was me I would rather you take me on a picnic somewhere remote and peaceful. The fact you had taken your time to plan it and prepare some lovely food would really do it for me. Congrats by the way. :-)
