Ok so it's been a week that school has been out and like I'm really bored being stuck at home and I want to know if there is anything good i can sign up for or take classes for that will keep me busy enough. And I would be with friends, but my parents are kind of strict about the whole going to the mall with groups and stuff cause they just don't let me out in groups without an adult and I am starting this basketball camp with a friend but it's only for 3 days so please if there is anything out there good to keep me really busy then please tell me :] Also I'm thinking about taking dance classes and I wanted to know what should be the most fun- tap, salsa, ballet, tango, hip-hop...any other suggestions??

  1. About the dance classes -

ALL dance is fun but the best choice for you is dependent on what you're looking for in a class...

Tap is great for fancy footwork and requires a lot of energy. It's not something you would really dance socially besides your lessons but there's plenty of opportunity for performance.

Salsa is my dance. It's great fun and very sociable - you can dance it at clubs, party nights and festivals as well as at your lessons. You get to meet lots of new people as it's a partner dance. Plus, the music is fab :-)

Ballet can be considered the basis of all dance. If you're serious about dance or are considering a career in it then this is the one to take. However, it is hard work and requires a lot of dedication.

Tango. Well, this is one I would love to learn. The Argentine Tango is a real intense dance and is similar to salsa in the respect that you will be able to dance it socially at specialist clubs and party nights...but it's not as popular as salsa so you might find it hard to find lessons and/or social events.

Hip-Hop is very energetic and probably the dance here that is most in tune with popular culture. It's great fun and open to creativity more than some of the others.

Other suggestions include ballroom/latin, bellydancing, jazz, modern, lyrical, streetdance/breakdance, disco, musical theatre, modern sequence, line dance, country dance, irish dance, flamenco, ceroc (modern jive), swing dance.

  2. It sounds like you're really active. this is kind of an unusual idea but if you wanted to take on a big endeavor you could organize your own reality dance competition with a bunch of your friends. advertize for it and hold the final event in your back yard. it could be fun.
