I do not have a GED and am not able to go to school to learn. So I would like to self teach....albiet a little hypocritical...with me, here, asking for help!

I am wondering, (as I have a beginners point of view with no knowledge yet on coding,) what "code" would be good to make games with? Preferably RP-Games, though, please do not recommend RPG maker or a "product" unless it can create, atleast near to, the depth that coding my own game would enable. (I want to do more than use pre-arted pictures to decorate landscapes and script stories. I want to build the systems behind those decorations & scriptings, as well as the "Decor-Iptions") ....Also, to be clear, I have no clue on anything to do with coding and making games... Does it take more than code? What would I need to own?
