Any Volleyball Libero players, how do you find the position?

I played rep Volleyball for a few years and went from back court to setter. I found this position so limiting. I mean it was important and exhilarating getting to the second touch every time, but I also missed the variety of reception.

Is Libero a similar situation? Do you feel limited that you are unable to spike, set, or serve? Or do you enjoy the importance of the position, the fact that your skills are honed to keep the ball in play?

  1. I know the feeling. I played outside for like 4 years but then everyone grew and I didnt. So I ended up being a libero. And I do miss hitting. It sucks knowing you will never be on the front row, but you can get the occasional downball. It's not as exciting but it still counts. But being libero is a veryy important position. The reason I like being libero is because it shows that I am the best passer on the team (not in a conceided way) Plus its the best feeling in the world is making an amazing dig from a great hit, and being a libero, you get more chances than anyone to experience that feeling. And now you also get to serve as a libero. So it kind of sucks not being able to hit or play front row, but its' still exciting.
