Any advice? Going to Australia for studies and P.R.?

Question

Hello everybody

I am from Sri lanka and I am going to Australia in about 4 months.I have a lot of doubts regarding studying there-the standard of education over there etc.

1.I am a bit more than average in my English(not my mother tongue).can I understand what they teach while they teach ??

2.How tough is the Studies over there in Australia??(I am going to study computer science)

3.what can I do to improve my English.

i was in the same position as you. not too worry bout english. sounds like you're better prepared than i was. if you passed the uni entrance requirement then you have what it takes to complete the course. as with all studies, hard work, dedication and passion are the important things. to improve your english, don't be afraid to make mistakes, practice, be proactive in getting feedback (esp writing). some unis offer english language assistance for international student. so check with the international office or student bodies. good luck!!!

well. i am a international student in singapore from india. i was also had the situation as you before once i planned to go to singapore. nothing to worry dude. it will b okey while you attending classes. first you might have some difficulties to follow the class.later on you catch it. however try to practice more in language. watch english movies without subtitles and try to listen their slang. You have the courage . you can make it.
