  1. Start small and build up feedback. Also, make sure your listing page looks nice, and if at all possible organized, colored, and formal looking. For most items, ending the auction on a Sunday evening is your best bet, but that's not always the case. If your item is seasonal, such as school supplies or decorations, then don't list it off season. Also, for most items, a 7 day auction will get the best results. Do not place an unnecessary reserve, and start the bidding off at 0 or $.99. If you use Buy it Now, then make the price reasonable, such as a few dollars more than the average sale price of the item. Check other listings for ideas. Offer shipping insurance, return policies, and guarantees in order to earn trust until you have feedback, but be careful that someone doesn't rip you off. Make sure you use shipping confirmation with the post office or shipping service and share the tracking numbers with your buyers. Accept only PayPal, if you want to be extra safe, but absolutely do not accept money orders or checks unless you're prepared to wait for them to clear and be sure nothing goes wrong. Check your account often. There's nothing worse than a seller that doesn't answer questions quickly.

Sorry, that was a lot (and disorganized). Good luck!
