  1. if you freak out when you're going down the hill, fight the urge to lean back. always stay centered on your board or maybe even lean forward a bit. when carving, don't use your back foot to push your board around, that's the best way to put yourself on your butt or worse. you gotta just keep your body in the same position and tilt from side to side, so you move from edge to edge. When you do this, your board will cut through the snow and turn for you. And if you want to stop you keep your weight at the front of your board and lean whichever way you would like to stop. If you lean backwards you will turn so you can stop with your back up the hill. opposite for chest up the hill. The faster you want to stop, the more you dig your edge into the snow (further you lean). Just keep practicing, and stick to it! have fun!

  2. it's about balancing and have the bottom part of your body's strenghs. if u can do that then uLL b fine. but u kno first time it's gunna b hard so ur butt might b sore from fallin on ur butt.

  3. ok well just remember to take it easy and try to carve so you dont have to much speed...if u have to just go down stopping...and when u get off the lift just put ur foot on the stomp pad and try to balance....if u fall over ur gonna look like a jackass...haha jk....just have some cofindence, take it easy, have some fun....snowboarding is aweosme

  4. Take lessons: you will be more successful = less falling with better core skills.

  5. A word of advice, if you can go to the hill before you try snowboarding, check out the boarders watch how its done and try and figure out how your going to do what they're doing

  6. it's going to be hard but keep trying!! when you get the hang of turning and stopping it's awesome!! and about chairlifts your a skier so the height isnt going to scare you. when you get off you might fall (probably not) but just get out of the way. take a lesson to learn how to stop and turn. you will feel more confident.

  7. Take a lesson.

As for the lifts - you skate into position and when the chair hits your legs twist and sit down into it and put your back leg onto the board until you get into the air.  If the lift doesn't have a bar for resting your board on then rest it on your free back foot or swing it up and hold the binding with your hand to take the weight off your ankle.

Getting off, just throw the back foot on next to the binding and ride it out.  There's no trick to it, it's just something you have to learn.

Do get a lesson.  Even though you're already comfortable on the snow and know how it feels to move on it you need to be shown the basics by someone who's trained to do that to be safe and learn how to do things the correct way.
