What's the best advice you can give me or have been given about going to college? I'm really excited and nervous. It's a small community college, but I already know my homework in one class my first day is like read 75 pages, some stuff online, and a quiz, I don't think I'm ready for it. I will also be babysitting 3 mornings a week from 5:30-7:30am. My first class 2 days a week is at 8, so I'm worried about being late. And I also have a part time job. Please give me any advice you can, I sure could use it.

PS- I live off campus, and all my friends are gone, so I'm worried I won't have any friends between not knowing anyone and being so busy. I also want to try to make the deans list.

Thanks!!!

  1. i'm a soon to be college freshman too... i actually worked during the summer at the school i'll be attending and i picked up a few tips..

first of all.. making friends is not hard at all .. u make friends in class when your studying in the library or maybe some one who doesn't even go to ur school.. that one is a given ... it's just like making friends in middle school and high school don't worry about it it'll happen..

as for the work load..the only tip i can give u is be organized;..I'm hoping u don't have to drive that far to get to class .. if u do then change your schedule or drop the babysitting.. if u can't do either then talk to your professor and discuss the situation with him/her...

also use the time between classes to study or make friends and try to sue the time to study with your own little study group .. ask around the class.. most people are eager to find someone to study with and u can do that before or after school or even on the weekends ...

good luck and i hope we both make it through freshman year : )
