  1. 1. Don't make being popular high on your list; usually the most popular girls end up making fools of themselves & getting bad reputations for backstabbing their friends & giving in to the boys (& the "cutest" boys will lose interest in them & move on to the next girl) & by high school everyone is sick of those girls. Focus on being a true, honest friend to as many people as possible regardless of their level of popularity & people will end up liking you more.

    2. Just b/c your friends do something, doesn't mean you should. Sometimes they'll make mistakes & don't want to be the only ones that make them, so they may tell you "it's cool" when really they wish they didn't make that mistake.  They won't do this to be mean, but in the teen years, people feel better when they're not the only one. Don't rush into things you may regret later b/c you can't take it back!!!

    3. Figure out what's most important--school, religion, family, etc.--then try not to do anything that disrepects it. Be true to yourself no matter how hard that is at times.

    4. MOST IMPORTANT: Even though things WILL go wrong & you feel like it's the end of the world & your parents will kill you for that bad grade or mistake, your friends will never forgive you, or you're so embarrassed you'll never ever be able to show your face again, etc. etc. This is all part of growing up & don't worry, b/c no matter what went wrong, it'll soon all be a memory.

**Huge fight w/ a friend? Give it 3-7 days to work out.

**Embarrassed? Give it 1-2 days & classmates will find  someone else to entertain them.

**Parents mad at you? 1wk for bad grades, 1-2wks for  something worse.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Be in No Rush to Grow Up.

  2. 6th 7th 8th and 9th grade are all basically exactly the same. except everyone starts to look older and different. that's really it. the last three years of highschool.. that's where all the fun is. (i think)

  3. Depending on the structure of the school system in your area know that seventh grade is the grade that usually counts the most when applying to high school (if high school starts in the 9th grade).

  4. Well I did seventh grade last year, but I'm not sure I can be so helpful cause I was home schooled. Just choose your friends carefully, be yourself, and learn your lessons. =)

  5. you sound like a pretty stable kid, so just relax and let it happen; have fun; don't stress out - teachers are aware of your age and anxiety/nervousness, so that's taken care of.  Just be you and have fun!  (That sounds really corny, but I taught 7th grade for 11 years, so . . . )
