Today is my daughters first day of school. She is five. I have four children and she is the third. I thought it would be easy when she went, being that I have been through this a couple times already, but its not. I worry so much about her. Do any other parents have tips you want to share? Thank you

  1. I am not a parent yet but I have a little sister who starts all day kindergarten next Tuesday and I feel like she is my own.  Her and I are 16 years apart and I am nervous as you know what.  She is a pretty independent little thing so...

I am going to go through that day pulling my hair out wondering what she is doing or if she can find everything that she needs.  I guess I will have to wait until she gets home to see how the day went before I can feel any ease about her going.

  2. I am in the same situation my 2nd  daughter is starting nursery next week too and im sure they will be a few tears from me lol but im sure your little one will be fine and enjoy it alot then when she gets home she can tell you all about it.

  3. just tell her to pay attention to what her teacher (or another grownup) says and she'll be fine.

  4. my daughter is starting preschool wen CRY CRY CRY is what i suggest!!! lol no what i sugest and i am going to do is take her the first day. she rides the bus but for the first day we are going to let her pick out her outfit do the hair eat what she wants to eatfor breakfeast and then i am going to take her to class the first day. i am going to make a big deal out of it. hate to say have fresh battries for the dig cam also to take pics to show her. alot of times it is more the patrests fears then the kids. my daughter got to see her classroom the first time the other day and was like see ya mom. broke y heart but she is growing up. if she is afraid give her time once she sees all the kids she will be like mommy who.

  5. Don't worry about being so upset. I think its just a mom thing. My little brothers first day of school was today (mine is Wednesday) and my mom has been worried about it for the past 2 weeks. She swears she's going to be crying all week. Funny thing is, I'm a junior in college and my brother is in 7th grade. She says she hates being reminded of how old were getting and how soon we wont need her. Plus, she gets lonely. It's okay. Just make sure you have something planned for yourself that day so you wont be too sad. I know my mom is going to get a mani/pedi so she has something to get her through the day.

  6. I just asked a question like this - it's my son's first day too...he is also 5. It's sooo much harder than I thought. Still crying a bit :(

Can you volunteer in her classroom every once in a while? That way you can check in on her.

    Good luck
