  1. the real reason you want to go to japan is because the legal age of consent is 13 isn't it? you a sick sick person.

  2. dont

  3. you may encounter a few problems but i suggest getting a translater espeacially if you plan on being there a while. they get a lot of earthquakes lol

  4. There are a lot of english speakers in japan now? Foreigners are forgiven for mistakes, their not like  gonna kill you for some  mistakes...

    important things

-make sure you can use chopsticks

-take your shoes off before entering most buildings

-bring gifts like boxes of chocolates to give to those who really helped you out (Japanese people LOVE american stuff)

    well have fun

  5. I have travelled in Japan.  You should not have any major problems and you should have an amazing time.  Signs at railway stations and on streets tend to be written in English as well.  There are lots of locals who want to practise their English and so offer themselves to be your guide for the day (or teach you calligraphy, origami, cookery, painting, art of bonsai etc. etc.)  for free - all they want is to talk English.  I found most of them have reasonable English albeit with very strong accents.  If you speak English with a Japanese accent they understand you better too.

I would definately recommend you get a JR (japanese rail) pass before you go.  Once you have your rail pass and accommodation paid for you can have a pretty cheap time in Japan.  The big department stores have amazing food halls (usually in a couple of basement levels).  Every section hands out free samples of the foods they are selling.  The small conveyor belt restaurents are great (abour $1 for a small plate - grab whatever plates take your fancy and pay by the number of empty plates at the end).  Japan has great food.

There are a few things that are really expensive in Japan -

taxis, organized tours, beef, some fruits and restaurents with lots of space and personalized attention (like teppanyaki or hostess bars).

Can I recommend that you check out Kyoto and Hiroshima as well as Tokyo.  You can use your train pass to get down there for nothing.  (Organized day tour $400!)  Make sure you check out Harajuku and the parks in Tokyo on the weekends (a lot happens when the locals come out to play).

Just do your research before you go and do it independently (otherwise you will pay through the roof).  Get used to the idea of catching trains everywhere and remember there are some private lines as well as JR lines.  Tickets for these are purchased separately.

Overall, Japan is one of the cleanest, safest, most organized and most interesting countries anybody could visit.  I have travelled all over the world and Japan is quite possibly my favourite destination.  I will return!

  6. I've heard you can learn japanese while droppin' bombs in the toilet, I'd highly recommend trying it.

As far as chopsticks go you could practice that while learning the japanese, if you don't have chopsticks use your girl friends (or if you don't have a girlfriend buy your own) tampons, lights are slimmer and should probably work the best!

    Good Luck
