It seems that most women on here ask questions related to natural, vaginal births...since I'm definately having a c section (baby is breech) I was wondering if any mamas out there had advice for me? I'm scheduled for Thursday morning... so any advice is welcome!

  1. You will still be able to bond with your baby.  Although you will be quite sore after your surgery, everything else should still fall into place.  Just remember that no matter how bad your tummy hurts afterward, the way to healing is to walk.  It won't be too bad.  I wish you all the best.

  2. hey just want to say good luck and hope everything goes well im having a csection the following weekend and im kinda scared lol but just want to wish u good luck

  3. Welcome to the breech baby club!

Well my water broke a week before my schedule c section so it threw me off.  There isn't much of a difference as to what to bring.

Loose fitting clothes, probably granny panties (so the waist band doesn't bother the incision), robe, socks, pads, toiletries, camera, cell phone and charger, diapers for baby, outfits for baby.  I have heard Mylicon for the gas (didn't hit me until I went him).

I was nursing so all I did was sleep and do that.  I was comfortable in the hospital gowns  and slipper socks, so I had a change of clothes to go home in and that was it...others prefer their own clothes.  The hospital gave me diapers and blankets so I only had the outfit my baby had to go home in, because he was always in a blanket.

As soon as they tell u that u can get up and walk around, do it! It helps get your body back to normal even though it hurts.

    Congrats and enjoy!

  4. I had a c section 4 months ago. It is really not bad at all! I was nervous and it was a breeze....well the surgery part was.  Your legs are all tingly for a really long time afterwards and the first time you get up to walk is really really rough but once your up your good! take time to heal!!! don't rush it!

    good luck and congrats!!!

  5. after your c-section you will be on a liquid diet, then they'll up it after they know you can handle it.  just take it slow.  after my last one i was pretty hungry so i drank all of my liquids pretty fast and ended up throwing up; and there is nothing worse than throwing up when your stomach muscles have just been cut open and sewn back together.

  6. Plan to have someone with you for the first week home.  The simplest tasks are difficult and it's very important that you give your body the time to heal.  Don't try to be Super Mom... this is major surgery.  If at any point after the c-section you think you might have an infection... take it seriously.

Just be as calm as you can and try to remember every moment... good and bad.
