I wan to join the swimming team at our school. When i was ten I swam and i think i was pretty good. I know my freestyle, backstroke, and breast stroke, but i do not know the fly that well. Will that effect my chances for being on the team? My endurance is not very good so ive started to run 2 miles every few hours to get my endurance up. Are there any other excercises that is should be doing to help increase my chances?

  1. to increase your chances, i would train about everyday, concentrate on your fly, being able to do all of the strokes will increase the chances of making the team.

  2. Train as much as you can.

    Work on your fly.

I actually didnt know my fly when i tried out for my team. I just ask how do u do it to a couple of teammates and just winged it. Then during practice i learned how to do the fly.

You might want to work on your technique on all 4 strokes so you can get faster.

And Don't give up. Coaches likes people with endurance

  3. If one of your strokes is way better then the other and your good at it then coach may choose you to swim that stroke at meets. I never swam fly for my meets because it wasnt my strongest stroke. But i was on varsity.
