  1. get her fitted. i like riedell, and jacksons.

i really jackson artiste's, the can last a while if u dont outgrow them, probably till the loop....i dont have it but alot of my friends do.

  2. Figure Skates for sure.  I bought my 5 year old hockey skates and she had a lot more trouble than the other kids.  Once I made the switch to figure skates she was doing awesome.  The flatter blade of the figure skates is easier for beginners that the rockered hockey blade.

  3. if she is figure skating

    i suggest some jacksons

    i personally like jackson mistiques

you could proberbly get some for £50 or £60 (about twice as much of your in dollars) for your daughter as i would think she has pretty small feet

they would cost a little more for you because you proberbly have bigger feet.

    but just remember

_ dont buy skates with room to grow. it will only end badly

    - always  tie them tight

    - remember to get them sharpened when needed

(if your going once a week, get them sharpened every 4-6 weeks)

hope i was of help ;]

  4. Without question the most important thing is to get her fitted by a professional.

They wont try to take you for all you are worth because they want you to come back to them but they know what she needs and what her foot needs -- so also find someone with experience.

I would also like to point out -- as a mom -- that you might consider getting her a cheaper brand or a used pair of skates for a while.  At five you don't know if she is even going to want to continue beyond this year and she will be out growing them so fast...

The path that most people take is rentals until the kids shows that they are going to continue for a while and then cheaper or used skates for about a year and then move on to more expensive skates that are fitted for her.

However, if you are a skater and your family are all skaters they it couldn't her to give her the best foot forward, so to speak, from the very beginning.

Good luck and know that if it doesn't work out for her you still have time as she is still quite young.
