  2. Cool.. it is sooo much fun. We have taken our old campervan to France four times in the last 5 years. All we booked in advance was the ferry out and ferry back - all other details were arranged on the move! In other words, when we found a campsite and area we liked, we stayed for several days. Or when the weather was too wet in the north or too hot in the south, we drove until

    In terms of advice..Various!

I would recommend that you read the foreign office website on specific driving advice. V useful site. www.fco.gov.uk.  and check France out.

Do not park up for sleep in laybys / parking areas in service areas at night especially on N6. Real problems with break ins and car-jacking. We had bad experience.

Also, take out proper breakdown cover that will cover roadside rescue etc. We broke down on spanish border, camper could not be repaired. Thanks to roadrescue through CIS insurance, the camper was towed home and we got a hrie car / hotels paid for. Really worthwhile for the peace of mind.

Apart from above, have a great time and drive carefully!
