the likelihood is they will not advice it

as for flights try the national airline for Iran

    hope this helps

    and good luck

  2. honestly dont go

  3. its full of heroin addicts, and i mean full.my advice is not to go.

  4. There are certain obvious things for trips to any muslim country, not just Iran.

Don't admit to being a writer or journalist.  Be careful where you point your camera, especially at sites that might be seen to have strategic interest such as bridges and railway stations or government buildings and royal palaces.

Try to avoid attracting attention to yourself so don't wear shorts or short t-shirts if you can help it.  Don't get involved in any political discussions with the natives or critiicise their government or political freedoms.  Posters of the president will be on view in every Iranian home or place of business and on the streets - his smiling face will be everywhere.  Try to ignore it and certainly don't criticise him or his policies.

Last but not least I guess is to make sure that the Iranians are actually issuing visas to your nationality at the moment.  Rules do change quite often depending on Irans relationship with a country at a given time.  Don't assume you will be given a visa in the first place, especially if you are an independent traveller travelling by your own means.  Try and get in with a tour group and get into a proper hotel.  Its quite likely in this part of the world you'll have to register with the local police on arrival (sometimes the hotels do this for you) and show your passport so they know where you are at any given time. You'll also need to show a return ticket out of the country and prove that you have enough money in the first place to support yourself while you are there. The other thing you'll have to do is get used to the practice of haggling and bartering.  Almost everything is negotiable.  Outside of the capital Tehran (and even inside it), don't count on finding an English speaker.  In many parts of the Arab world, French is more useful as a second language than English.  The official language of Iran is Persian.

Finally I guess - the obvious stuff.  Don't do drugs and don't break the law - any law - as penalties can be severe.  Westerners have been known to still get lashed out there, and Iranian prisons are not too inviting.  If you get caught offending public morals or something such as being drunk in public you should consider yourself lucky just to get deported and not thrown in jail or whipped.

  5. Learn the language first if you can. The culture sure is interesting.

  6. Kevlar jacket and a fire extinguisher for putting out a burning stars and stripes.

  7. Get used to anal probes.

It'll happen when you get there and it'll happen when (if?) you come back.

  8. An interesting place and not so expensive. Food is good and people very polite. They don't speak English. If a lady accompanies you she has to cover her body properly and wear head scarf. You dont drink and dont look for night life. You will like it.

  9. 'With a question like that you expect a serious answer and worse of all your trusting here for help wowwww

Anyone will tell you not to go for the obvious reasons but if you must go i suggest you find out the laws before entering the country cos it wont take much for the Iranian police to arrest you or any other Brit or American and i'm sure you know why . And im not being funny !

    Good luck !  ( You'll need it )
