Any advice so i can use to the heat during football practice?

Today(8/11/08) was the First Day of Football practice at my School and my mouth was really dry during practice.We get Water brakes but like after 5-10min. my mouth got really dry.It was REALLY Hot because i live in Texas.Any Advice?

Before practice make sure you got enough liquids in you before practice.  Make sure you try to keep your mouth closed.

Stay hydrated through out the day, Before & after practice. Try to stay away from drinks high in sugar ie; soda. Stick to juices, Gatorades (G2), and water. Water being the best of the three! eat a big breakfast and little snacks during the day.also drink water and allday before practice.

yes, stay hydrated before you get to practice. drink a lot of glasses of water before. also what i do is i chew gum when i practice, it does help. chew gum before you practice so your mouth will be be moist, keep another one like in your sock or helmet and use it when your mouth gets really dry, like emergency only. if you get water breaks during practice, i would chew the next piece, that is what i do
