I've got a job interview at Coldstone coming up soon. This is my second time being interviewed there. I haven't had a lot of job experience only babysitting so any advise and how should i dress?

  1. Look professional. Guys are expected to wear a suit or at least a shirt and tie with nice pants. Ladies should wear a skirt suit, pant suit, nice blouse with skirt or pants e.t.c. You get the idea. To look really professional, your suit should be black or dark blue. Tan works well too. Whatever you do, avoid extremely bright or fluorescent colors, excessive jewelry, unbelievable hairstyles, too much perfume, heels higher than 2 inches, gum and excessive makeup. Keep everything to a minimum.

Take a resume with you, if you have one. Since you don't have a lot of experience, highlight your achievements at school e.g.: Class President, Member of the debate team and so on. Babysitting counts as experience, you were considered responsible enough to look after someone's child.

Prepare questions you may have for the interviewer, for example (I posted this for another question):

Are there any opportunities for advancement/promotions?

What is a typical day in the shop like?

    What will my duties be?

Who will I be reporting to?

When are the busy periods? What will my schedule look like then?

Will I be expected to work overtime? How often?

Practice. Have someone pretend to be the interviewer and practice having an interview. The more you do this, the more confident you will be.

Well, I think this is long enough. If you need help with creating a resume, check out Monster.com, monstertrak.com and any of the other job sites.

I wish you the best with your interview.
