Any age limit to buy a sewing mashine?

Can I send my daughter to go and buy one?

She's 12 at the moment.

  1. I doubt it would really be a problem, they might just be taken a bit off guard if she's going by herself.  :D


  2. She wouldn't be able to finance one, but if you're talking about a low cost Walmart special, then they'd definitely sell her one if she's got the money.

As others have told you, she can buy it, but a sewing machine weighs about 20 pounds and is going to be hard for her to carry home.   Also, there are many machines from which to choose, with different features and price tags.  If the machine is too cheap, it may not hold up to regular use.  Most 12-year-olds aren't comfortable or competent making those kinds of decisions.

  4. My granddaughter sews with me. She is 11 and I would trust her to know what she is doing, but the kind of store would limit her information. If you already  know what you want I am sure if she has the money they will be more than happy to relieve her of it no questions ask!!!!!!!!!

  5. She can if she has cash.  But, it would be rather heavy for her to carry home.

  6. At least in the US, minors cannot make valid contracts, so no cash, no sale.
