I am wanting to know is there any alternative to cream cheese and Butter? I have decided to not consume milk or dairy products because of it being hard for my body to digest. But I love Cream Cheese and Jelly on Toast.. But I am firm about not having any diary.. Oh and what is the best alternative to Butter? Thanks in Advance

  1. Peanut Butter, Apple Butter.

Or do vegans think thats bad too.

    Hahaha

  2. Where I live no one eats butter. They put olive oil on there bread or toast. It's actually very good and healthier.

  3. Put plain yogurt in a coffee filter to strain out the liquid. Tastes a lot like cream cheese and a lot healthier for you. I am also lactose intolerant and it gives me no grief. Your not going to get anything close to cream cheese that doesn't have some dairy in it.

For butter, I personally use Lactancia margarine.

  4. margarine but i think that's bad

  5. Mix tahini and honey together.

Also good is almond butter  and marzipan

If the bread is frozen you can spread it easily . Then just set it out to thaw.

  6. Earth Balance instead of butter, and Toffuti brand dairy free "cream cheese"

  7. Awesome for you decding not to consume dairy, your body will thank you!

Cream Cheese - Toffuti Better Than Cream Cheese.

Butter - Earth Balance/Soy Garden, Nucoa Real Margarine, Marks & Spencer’s Margarine, Pure Margarine, Vitalite Margarine, Sainsbury's Margarine, Suma, Willow Run Soybean Margarine, and Spectrum Organics Spread.

  8. I can't believe it's not butter - thats actually the name of it.

  9. There are all kinds of butter substitutes, most commonly margarines. There are also cheese substitutes but none that really tastes like cheese - especially cream cheese.

I often have a nice small lunch with a toasted English muffin, a thick layer of cream cheese, and some nice jam.

  10. You could try olive oil spread instead of butter, but you can get soy spread and even soy cream cheese. Go to a health store and you will find loads of alternatives, often asian stores also stock things like this.
